Biography

Malcolm Anderson has run 50 marathons and ultras. Notable distance races include the Brathay 10 Marathons in 10 Days Challenge in 2008, Comrades Ultra, Lake Tahoe Triple, New York, London, Athens, Toronto, Ottawa, Boston (2013, 2014), Mt Hood 50 Miles (Oregon), and Yakima (x3) (Washington State).

In addition to writing articles on distance running he is the author of four running books, one of which was as editor of ‘The Marathon Maniacs: The World’s Most Insane Running Club’ – a compilation of 77 stories from distance runners in the club. 

Malcolm has an extensive background in conducting academic and consulting research and the use of research methods. He has conducted hundreds of interviews over the years, including interviews for his book ‘The Messengers’ in which he wrote the stories of over one hundred runners who have completed 100 marathons or more. He has been the host of a television series on marathon running, and more recently worked as a ghost writer on a runner’s book and did content and copy-editing on a book about the experiences of 46 runners’ from around the world, scheduled for release later in 2020. His own running experiences are described in ‘A Marathon Odyssey.’
